The iPhone is available in Australia.  Various types of Google Android phones are out in the land of Oz as well.  So which telco here in the land of kangaroos is selling the Palm Pre?

I took a quick look on Google Australia just to see if it's available here yet.

Heck, even a mere few months ago, Smarthouse asked the same question:  where is it?

Interestingly, earlier versions of Palm phones were available in Australia, both in their PalmOS and Windows Mobile versions.

So outside of Ebay, where's the Aussie Palm Pre or Pixi with that lovely WebOS?

Did you know that Ireland, of all places, got a release date for it before Australia? Even Europe managed a clearer idea of when their version would be available.

In the meantime, ever since the middle of last year, Australian tech websites have waxed lyrical about the phone and its improved OS (improved especially over the original PalmOS).

So what about Palm's Australian website?  Any further news there?  At this date:  Nope.  There's a great pic there of the Pre and that's about it for the moment.

The final port of call was to Ebay's Australian site.  Did it come up in a search there?  No.  Not with anyone in Australia selling one.  You only get one on Ebay from places other than Oz.

The search for the Aussie Palm Pre or Pixi continues...though if you hear of any announcement in the last few days, please feel free to inform us of it.
